“Help us fulfill this exciting vision for the future of the Gevirtz School.”
– Henry T. Yang, Chancellor
Construction on our exciting new home at the corner of Ocean and El Colegio roads is now underway with completion scheduled by the summer of 2009.
Now, more than ever, public education needs our best thinking, most innovative research, and most talented practitioners. Join with us as we build a graduate school of education for the 21st century.
Our mandate is to create a facility that nurtures the American Dream of an excellent education made available for all. We envision a place for teachers, students, researchers, children, families, and community members who believe in our future as a democratic society and are all engaged in programs to support educational excellence.
We can realize this vision with your support. Become a patron of the New Gevirtz School of Education with a gift for the building or for our endowment. Our goal is to augment state funds for construction with $7 million in private contributions. These gifts will enable us to outfit the new building with advanced learning and teaching technologies, community meeting rooms, and learning gardens and play areas for very special children. We are also seeking support to endow programs in autism, learning differences, teacher education, youth resilience, and educational leadership and policy.
There are many exciting naming opportunities for donors to name areas in the new building, including
Autism Clinic Rooms
Dean's Conference Room
Learning Garden
Lobby & Main Entrance Foyer
Psychology Assessment Center
Science and Math Education Classrooms
Student Lounge
Technology in Education Lab/Virtual Classroom
